Sarah Drucilla Hargis was born on the 24th of July 1846 to Henderson Hargis and Carminta Hargis

In 1870[4] she is still in Macon County, William is a farmer with a $600 personal estate, and he confirms he's from Tennessee. In the Home are William, 39, and what we must assume is a 2nd Wife - Sarah age 24, as his oldest son is William 15 (it is highly doubtful she had a child at 9), James 13, Elias 10, Wiseman 6, Eason 3 and Nancy 2 months. Most of his neighbors are family bearing the last name of Hargis.

In 1880[5] they continued to live in Macon County. The names surrounding them are no longer mainly Hargis, but still a few are near. He is still a farmer, and in the home are William 49, Sarah 35, Wiseman 15, Eason 12, Nancy 10, Clemency 7, Robert A 3, George 1

In 1900[7] they continue to live in Macon, Tennessee. In the home are William 69 and Sarah 53, their daughter Clemency 27, who had married into the Pattersons and her children Vassie 7 and William 2, son Robert 23, Minnie 14, Nettie 9, also their son George 21 and his young wife Demerras 15. Sarah confirms she had 9 children, of which 7 are living.

Death

She died on the 15th of July 1905 in Macon Tennessee and she would be buried in the William Abner Hargis Cemetery in Lafayette, Macon County, Tennessee[11]
