Biography
John Carr Hargrave was born on 19 January 1857 in Hopkins County, Texas to James Perry and Casandra Clark Hargrave.
He married Zerelda Arbell Brewer. The couple had six children named Lyda Lee, Charles William, Benonia Stinson, Frank James, James Everett, and Frue Hargrave.
John Carr and Zerelda Brewer Hargrave made their home at Nelta on his grandfather, William Hargrave's, old homeplace. He was a farmer.
John Carr Hargrave was afflicted with a slow paralysis during his last few years. He died at his home on 7 September 1925. He was buried in the Nelta Cemetery. (bio by: Sarah Clark Stevens)
