Daughter of John Charles & Martha (Anderson) Harper, Iona Layten Harper was born on October 1, 1895, in Cornelia, Georgia.[1] She married widower Archie Vernon Armstrong on June 29, 1913, in Laurens, South Carolina.[2] She died on October 28, 1979, in Gray Court, South Carolina, at the age of 84, and was buried there.[3]
