A former farmer of the Yallangip district. Mr Harold Thomas Harris, of Box Hill, died at Box Hill Hospital on Thursday.
Mr Harris, who was aged 87 years was a son of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas T. Harris and was born at Warracknabeal. He was well known in the Warracknabeal district and farmed at Yellangip for many years until moving to Bacchus Marsh then later to Yarrawalia.
Five years ago he moved to Box Hill where he was living at the time of his death. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St Mary's Church, Warracknabeal, yesterday morning by Fr McKenzie who also said prayers at the cemetery.
Coffin bearers were Messrs Kevin Kelly, Adrian Kelly, Thomas Harris, J. Frost. He is survived by his wife (nee Miss Eileen Kelly), and one son, Thomas (Canada). He also leaves one sister, Janey (Mrs C. Collins; Glen Iris). Two brothers and one sister predeceased him. W.B. Gardiner and Son, Funeral Directors of Warracknabeal, were in charge of arrangements.[1]
