Biography

Obituary: Robert E. Harrison Former Mayor of Rison. Rison, March 24 (Spl). - Robert E. Harrison, aged 82, died here Sunday. He had been justice of the peace of Rison township for 53 years. He owned and operated a hotel in Rison for several years, also owned and operated a farm near Rison. He was mayor of Rison for two terms. Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Mattie Doss of Danville, Ill., two sons, Bert of Rison and Merwyn of Star City, two brothers, Joe of Rison, Frank of Pine Bluff, and two sisters, Mrs George Brown of Rison, Mrs. J.C. Johnson of Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Buie funeral home chapel by the Rev. George Moody and the Rev. T. T. Newton. Masons will have charge of services at the grave.
