Biography

Hannah Hart, born 10 Oct 1747 @ Farmington, Connecticut, was a daughter of Thomas Hart and Hannah Coe.

She married first, Jacob Byington, of whom she was widowed.

She married second, during or after 1795, Thomas Gould Alvord, of whom she also became widowed in May 1810.

Per the Alvord genealogy, When Ebenezer Alvord's father [Thomas Gould Alvord] married his second wife, she stipulated in the marriage contract that she should not be burdened with his children. This stipulation was not only strictly regarded by said children, but when she becomes a helpless widow, Ebenezer Alvord took her home, and with some pecuniary aid from his brothers, supported and cared for her as tenderly as though she had been his own mother. Thus those she feared might be a burden to her, became the cheerful support of her declining years.

Hannah (Hart) (Byington) Alvord died 20 Sep 1833 at Homer, New York. Her grave is in Atwater Cemetery, Homer, Cortland County, New York, USA ^[1].
