Samuel Medley Harvey was born on 30 May 1803 in Liverpool. His birth was recorded in the records of Lime Street Chapel. He was the son of William and Margaret Harvey.
Samuel married Esther (Brickhill) Scott in 1837, in a registrar-attended ceremony in Prescot district.
By June 6th 1841, they were living in Sandfield Crescent, Eccleston. Samuel was a book keeper. They had no children. Also in their household was George Scott, an engineer aged 30-34. Like Esther (who was 25-29) he had been born outside Lancashire.
Samuel died in a tragic accident early in 1850, aged 47. "On Saturday night week Mr. Samuel Harvey, clerk at the Sutton engine sheds, was accidentally killed by an engine at the St Helens station. The wheel passed over his neck and almost severed the head from the body."[1]
Research Notes
Esther's first marriage may have been to Francis Scott on 2 Jan 1832 at Manchester Cathedral.[2] I couldn't find a burial record for Francis between 1832 and 1837 however, or any children's christenings.
Couldn't see what happened to Esther after Samuel's death
