Biography

Elizabeth Rae Harvey was the daughter of John Rae aka John Rae Harvey (he took the surname of his maternal uncle Robert Harvey when he inherited from him). Elizabeth was most likely born in Grenada or Antigua, where her father was a plantation owner.

Elizabeth's father bought Castle Semple in Renfrewshire, Scotland in 1818.

Elizabeth Rae Harvey, daughter of John Harvey, married Henry David Erskine, Earl of Buchan, son of Henry Erskine & Christian Fullerton, on 20 Jun 1830 in Edinburgh.^[1] And/or on 26 Jun 1830 in Uphall, West Lothian.^[2]

Elizabeth and David had two children:

1. Henry David Erskine (1833-)
2. Margaret (Erskine) Vincent (1834-1872)

Elizabeth Erskine passed away on 17 Dec 1838.
