Biography

Margaret Erskine was born on 15 Nov 1834 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Henry David Erskine, 12th Earl of Buchan and his second wife Elizabeth Rae Harvey.[1]

Lady Margaret Erskine married the Reverend William Vincent on 24 Apr 1860. The marriage was registered in St George Hanover Square, London in the second quarter of the year.[2]

Margaret and William had one son:

  1. Francis Erskine Vincent (1869-1935)

In 1871 Margaret Vincent (age 36, Earl's Daughter) lived in Postwick, Norfolk with her husband William (36, Rector of Postwick), son Francis Erskine (1), and two visitors: [her sister-in-law] Agnes Graham Buchan (40, Countess) and [her nephew] Shipley Gordon Erskine (21, Earl's Son), as well as seven servants: Maryann Cockerell (43, Domestic Cook), Esther Thompson (23, Parlour Maid), Maryann Edwards (23, House Maid), Mary Thorpe (55, Nurse), Anna Maria Rich (18, Kitchen Maid), Louise Williamson (36, Visitor's Lady's Maid), and William Munday (24, Groom).[3]

Margaret Vincent passed away on 22 Nov 1872. Her death was registered in Chelsea, London in the last quarter of the year.[4]

She was buried on 25 November 1872 in St Mary's Churchyard, Stoke D'Abernon.
