MEMORIAL PHOTOS 2 FLOWERS 4 Eddy Hatch was probably named for his mother Alice (in some records, "Eles") Eddy. His name was spelled "Eddey" in the Falmouth town birth record. He married his wife Sarah about 1725 and they had nine children, including stillborn twin girls. Eddy was born in Falmouth, Mass but he settled in Connecticut as did several of his siblings. One of his sons, Abner, appears to have named a son after Eddy; the son's name was variously spelled "Ede" (in records) and "Eda" (on tombstone).

"Eday" Hatch's gravestone was correctly transcribed in the below sourced NEH&G Register article on Connecticut cemetery inscriptions, but was then incorrectly transcribed as "Ebay". This was then applied as a nickname to Ebenezer Hatch, son of Jonathan Hatch Jr. & Abigail (Weeks) Hatch. Ebenezer's Findagrave memorial (10312553) has a photo of the gravestone of "Eday" Eddy Hatch, his death information & the erroneous nickname, "Ebay". Please make note of it.
