Biography
Mary was born about 1863. She is the daughter of James Hatton and Effy Gilchrist.
Family records indicate that the spelling of the last name is Hattan, originally McIlhattan, likely changed to Hattan by Mary Margaret Hattan Bryant's father James Hattan when he immigrated to Canada from Scotland in the early 19th century, probably from Argyll.
