Biography
Veronica was born in 1924. She was the daughter of Martin Hauck and Hilda Walser[1]
She married Ronald William Melitzer in 1950 and they were married for 63 years. Together, they had the following children:
- Wayne
- Cal
- Bev
- Diann
She passed away in 2013[1]
MELITZER, Veronica Marie It is with great sadness that we announce her passing on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital, in her 90th year, of West Montrose. Beloved wife of Ronald for 63 years. Loving mother of Wayne Melitzer, Cal Melitzer, Bev Wendland, Diann Hollebrandse and son-in-law John Hollebrandse. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Chad Melitzer, Tyler Wendland and his wife Shineen Huque, Leslie Wendland, Brad Hollebrandse, Natasha Hollebrandse and fiancé Brad Seftel. Great-grandchildren Cameron and Carter Melitzer and James Wendland. Sister-in-law to Shelly and Lorna Melitzer and Vida Geddes. Predeceased by her parents Martin and Hilda Hauck, brother Harry and sister Theresa Hauck; grandson Colin Melitzer and son-in-law Gary Wendland. A special thanks to Deb and Salena for all the care they provided over the years. She lived a challenging life very courageously. What she missed most was the ability to stand up and dance. You now have the choice to sit or dance and we know you'll choose to dance! At Veronica's request, cremation has taken place. The family will receive their friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira for a memorial visitation on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. Memorial service to celebrate Veronica's life will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the March of Dimes or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. "A leaf has fallen from our tree, a soul to take now forever free".
