Biography

Eve Madelaine (Magdalena) Haushalter was born on 20 Aug 1818 to Georg Martin Haushalter and Maria Margaretha Stürm in Niederbetschdorf, Bas-Rhin, France.[1]

She immigrated with her father Martin and sister Marie to the United States of America, arriving on the ship Olympia at New Orleans, Louisiana on 7 Jun 1838.[2]

Their known children are Helena Goebel (likely died young)[5], Philipp Goebel[6][7][8][9], Louise Goebel (likely died young)[10][8], and Magdalena Goebel (likely died young)[8].

Magdalena's husband Philipp likely died between 6 Jul 1849, the date of a visit on a receipt from his doctor, and 6 Aug 1849, the date that his widow identified his heirs in probate court.[8] She married Edward Schocke on 29 Sep 1850 in St. Louis County.[11]

Their known children are Edward Schocke[12], Caroline Schocke[12][13][14][15], Henry Schocke (likely died young)[12], Louisa Schocke[12][13][14], and Henry Schocke[13][14].
