Biography

Mary Frances Havens was the daughter of Jeremiah Jagger Havens and Phebe A. Lomas,^[1] born on 19 July 1889 in Atlanticville, New York.^[2]

Her mother, Phebe, passed away in 1894 and Mary was adopted by John P. Hand in 1895.^[3]

On 2 June 1906, she married her second cousin (and John's nephew) Everett H. Hand in Southampton, New York.^[4] They had eight children. Everett died in 1943.^[5]

On 12 August 1944, she married for the second time to Jacob Rodecker at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church in Elmont, New York.^[6]

Mary passed away on 14 September 1965 in Bay Shore, New York.^[7]

May Frances Hand of Hampton Bays and Jacob Rodecker of 84 Waldorf avenue, Elmont, were married at St. Paul Presbyterian Church parsonage, Elmont road. The Rev. Duncan Kennedy, pastor, officiated.

Marie Smith was the maid of honor. The other bridal attendants were Mrs. Yvonne Whitman of East Quoque and Mrs. Henry Rodecker of Elmont.

Henry Rodecker was best man for his father.

The couple will live in Elmont.
