Biography

Mary EIlza Hayes married Walter Rouse in 1878.^[1]

The couple had five children. Louise Winifred was born in 1879.^[2] William James was born in 1883.^[3] Herbert Francis was born in 1885.^[4] Beatrice Mary was born in 1888.^[5] Walter was born in 1890.^[6]

Unfortunately Mary entered into the Seacliff Mental Asylum in 1891 and was no longer supported by Walter. ^{[7] [8] [9] [10]}

She passed away there in 1938^[11] and is buried in Waitati Cemetery.^[12]

Research Notes

The Dunedin Cemetery Database suggests she was 87 when she passed away and that she was Elizabeth Mary Rouse. The dates of death are the same on both sources.
