STEWART MANOR, N.Y.— Donald Hayward, 88, of Stewart Manor, Long Island, N.Y., formerly of Randolph, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, N.Y. He was born Nov. 8, 1915, in Randolph, the son of Dr. Harrison and Grace (Goodall) Hayward. He lived in Randolph until he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then moved to New York, where he lived the past 60 years. He was a refrigeration engineer and had worked for the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. He was a Freemason, and deacon and treasurer of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Queens, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Maisie Hayward of Stewart Manor, N.Y.; a son, Dane Hayward of Kelseyville, Calif.; two daughters, Laurie Perez of Kingston Springs, Tenn., and Donna Wolfe of Stewart Manor, N.Y.; a brother, Harrison Hayward of Randolph; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services with full military honors will be held Thursday, Oct. 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. Contributions in his memory may be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, 710 W. 168th, New York, N.Y., 10032. Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
