In the 1860 census James (age 56), Labourer, was in Bristol, Bristol, Rhode Island. Wife Maria, 5 children. possible mother-in-law.[3]

James died in 1864 and was buried in North Burial Ground, Bristol, Bristol County, Rhode Island, United States.[4][5]
