Biography

William was born in 1830. He was the son of John Heath and Frances Davis. He passed away in 1898.

  • He was the farmer most of his life.
  • William A. Heath was buried at his farm in the family cemetery. When the farm was developed into the current Wal-Mart shopping center, the family cemetery, which had grave markers and is visible in historic aerial photographs, was desecrated. Wal-Mart placed a centoaph at Gethsemane Church of Christ to memorialize the names of the family whose resting place was destroyed.
William Heath served in the United States Civil War.

He served the Confederate Army during the War for Southern Independence. Private, King William Artillery.
