Maria was born on March 10, 1797. She passed away on March 13,1861 and buried in the Stone Valley Church, Hickory Hills, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. ^[1]

Family History

Daniel Shaffer, son of Wilhelm and Maria Sarah (Witmer) Shaffer) and born on September 9, 1796 in Lower Mahonoy Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He died April 1, 1877 in Northumberland County and buried in the Stone Valley Cemetery in Hickory Corners, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.

Daniel and Maria lived in the Lower Mahonoy Township. In 1860, their son Henry H. , age 33, and daughter Mary, age 20, were with them. Also Theodore Boardman 41 and Sarah Hollenbach, age 12, was living with them. After his wife died, Daniel's sister ,Catherine, and her husband, Henry Lentz, lived with him.

His Will dated September 1972, Daniel gave all his household furn iture to his sister, Catherine. On May 18, 1890, after Catherine died, Daniel Shaffer's children and some of his grandchildre made a claim against Catherine;s estate. It was establioshed by evidence by Riley r. Zerbe and William Shaffer that Catherine was indebted to Daniel Shaffer, The following heirs of Daniel Shaffer were represented by M . L. Snyder, Esquire, in their claim against the estate of Catherine:These children - Henry H. Shaffer, David IH. Shaffer, Mary A, married to Aaron Seiler. Also the children of Daniels deceased daughter, Eliuzabeth, who married to Joseph Lowerm mamely, William H. Lower, Adeline Lower married to John Sayers, Mary E Lower married to Charles L. Freeburn, and Annie Lower married to George Brosius.
