Mästersven (journeyman smith) Per Erik Norlin and master smith's daughter Brita Lisa Hedberg were married 24 January 1846.[5] They moved from Boda hammer to Galtström 1850 with two children.[6] Son Per Johan wos born at Galtström 1852[7] and they had two more children while they were in Galtström.
From 1860 we find Per Erik and Brita Lisa as crofters in Årskogen, Gnarp parish.[8][9] They moved to Näs in Skön parish in 1867. Brita Lisa was widowed in January 1869.[10][11]
In September 1872 widow Brita Lisa Norlin left for America with her two youngest sons. Her youngest living daughter went to be fostered with her aunt in Järvsö.
Daughter Greta Stina had announced her intent to emigrate already in August, but she travelled together with her mother.[12] They left from Göteborg on board the Rollo 20 September, their intended final destination Portland in Maine.[13] They arrived to New York on board the City Of Limerick 9 October.[14]
At the time of the US census 1880 "Bessie L Nolan" lived in Portland with two sons and her daughter Margaret, married to Peter H Woll.[15]
