Biography

Jacob was born in 1695 in Oberhoffen-sur-Moder, Offendorf District, Alsace, France under the Hanau-Lichtenberg Earldom. He was the son of Hanß Heinrich and Maria Christmann. Jacob diedwhen he was only 4 years old in 1700 in Oberhoffen and was buried there.

Trinitas: was baptized and named Jacob. The Baptismal Sponsors are Hannß Daniel Schuster the Court member, Hannß Schuster the young, Citizen, and Anna Regina Beckmänn, surviving Widow of the late N. Beckmanns the Weaver in Bischweiler.

Maji; seines alters 4. Jahr 9. Monatth, 4. Tage. Beÿ der Procestion ward gesung Christus der ist m. Leben y. beÿeu Grabe: Nun lasteus s. He der Kirche Herr J. P. äl Weiß gar wohl ete.

Translation

Year 1700. the 23 May, at 11 o’clock midday, Jacob, the youngest little Son of Heinrich Hannß, this year’s Municipal Administrator died here. He was buried according to Christian practice at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on May 24; he was 4 years, 9 months 4 days old. At the ceremony Christ was [sung, who is alive and well?] at his grave. He of the church Mr. J. P. äch Weiß even ?.
