Biography

Minerva Hendershot was age 1 at the time of the 1860 census in Liberty Township, Washington, Ohio. Her father is listed as Jackson Hendershot, a 27 year old farmer, and her mother as Rhoda Hendershot. At this time, she has four brothers, William H., David H., James, and John Albert Hendershot.[1]In 1870 she was with her family in Salem Township, Washington, Ohio. Her father is listed as J. D. Hendershot, age 37, a clock tinker. Her mother as Roda. The children: William H. is 15 an invalid, David H. 14 at home; James H. 12, Manerva C. age 11, John H. 9, Alexander J. 7, Margret A. age 6 are at school.[2]

In December 26 of 1878, Miss Minerva C. Hendershott married Thomas J. Marsh at Washington County, Ohio.[3]

The 1900 census finds the Marsh family living at Oak Valley Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota. Minerva and Thomas have five sons: Frank B., age 20 b. in Ohio, Charles C. age 15 born in Ohio, Rodger age 12 born in Minnesota, Herman A. age 5 born in Minnesota, Otis L. age 4 born in Minnesota.

Minerva Campbell (Hendershot) Marsh died in 1937 at Wrightstown, Otter Tail County, Minnesota and was buried at Woodside Cemetery near Wrightstown.[4]

A son Roger died October 2, 1967 at Minnetonka Township, Hennepin County, Minnesota, his wife's name was Molly Collwell.[5]

A son James Marsh was born February 10, 1881 at Aureliius, Washington, Ohio[6]and died February 9, 1965 at Wadena Township, Wadena, Minnesota. His wife's name was Lucy.[7]

A daughter Wm Knox, born 1878 at Columbus, Ohio died at age 51 years on November 15, 1929 at Oak Valley Township, Otter Tail County, Minnesota.[8]
