Biography

Samuel Ewell Henry, born on January 22, 1877, in Magnet Cove, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, came into the world as the son of James Montgomery Henry and Susan Catherine (Chamberlain) Henry. In his early years, in 1880, he lived in Magnet Cove Township, Hot Spring County, Arkansas. As he transitioned into adulthood, he could be found living in Tennessee Township, Grant County, Arkansas, by the year 1900.

On April 6, 1904, Samuel embarked on a new chapter in his life when he married Natalie Smith, a union that would shape the course of his family's history. The couple settled in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, and in 1910, they established their home on Pine Bluff Street. Samuel's livelihood centered around cattle ranching, a career that provided for his growing family.

Tragedy struck in 1919 when Natalie, his beloved wife, passed away on January 31st in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas. Their marriage had blessed them with at least five children during their time together.

By 1920, Samuel found himself on Pine Bluff Street in Fenter Township, Hot Spring County, Arkansas. Here, he owned his home with a mortgage and continued to work as a cattle stock raiser on the ranch he had established.

Life took another turn for Samuel in 1972, when he married Minerva Ana Harrison, marking the beginning of a new family chapter. They welcomed at least two children during their marriage.

In the 1930s, Samuel's residence remained on Pine Bluff Street in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, and he transitioned into a livestock dealer to support his family.

By 1940, he had become a supervisor for a mineral surveying project while residing on Pine Bluff Street in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas.

As he reached the age of 73 in 1950, Samuel, unable to work, depended on an annual income of $2,164. His life journey ended on July 8, 1952, when he succumbed to tuberculosis pneumonia in Malvern, Hot Spring County, Arkansas. He found his final resting place at Oak Ridge Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy of family and hard work that defined his life.
