He was a Farrier. In 1901 his occupation was stated as a master horseshoer employing two horseshoers. He was residing with his widowed mother and three of his siblings at House 23 in Kilpedder Town (Newcastle Upper, Co.Wicklow).[1] During the first quarter of 1910 he married Florence Ann Batey. She was some 16 years his junior. He was the primary beneficiary in the will of his mother who died on 17 Nov 1910.[2] In 1911 they were living at House 356 in Greystones, Co. Wicklow.[3] They had two daughters, Amy and Hazel.
