Christian Herr's farm was in what is now West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, bordering Pequea Creek. According to a short biographical sketh of his son, "Christian either assumed, or had conferred upon him, by his neighbors, the appellation of 'Pequea Christian Herr.'" His son Christian was called 'Christian Herr, Jr., Pequea.' ^[2]
