Research Notes

I do not find a source for the middle name of Mary. Margaret's name on her marriage record was "Peggy". There is however, a memorial stone at the Doner cemetery with a Christian Stukey (1802-1833) and a Mary Margaret Stukey (1755- - 1812/1817). This Mary Margaret Stukey is old enough to be the mother of Christian Stukey who married Margaret Harsh. More work needed.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:

John Henry Harsh "Henry" and the John Harsh who m. Anna Barbara Hoke were brothers, not the same person. Hence Margaret Hersch Stukey was a cousin, rather than a sister of Sarah Harsh Notestine. The latter had a sister Margaret who first married a Hewitt, who she may have been divorced from.
