Anna passed away in 1931 and was buried in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, Elkhart, Indiana.[2]
Hartman. — Anna, daughter of William and Susannah Hetrick, was born May 25, 1851, in Mahoning Co., Ohio. She came to Elkhart Co., Ind., with her parents at the age of 15. She was married to Emanuel Hartman July 14, 1872, and resided in Elkhart Co., until their death. Mr. Hartman died April 11, 1896. Mrs. Hartman passed to her eternal reward in November, 1931; aged 80 y. 6 m. 9 d. She leaves 2 daughters, 1 son, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a brother, and 2 sisters. She was a member of the Mennonite Church and of the Prairie St. congregation at Elkhart, Ind. In her Bible the following verses were found.
"Yes! I know I'll soon be there,
Free from sin and from despair,
When the angels come and carry me away.
All my doubts have fled away,
And I'm waiting for the day,
When the angels come and carry me away."
Funeral services held at the Prairie St. Mennonite Church, conducted by J.S. Hartzler and D. A. Yoder.
