Ann was born before 1830. I have in my possession a sampler done by Ann in 1840 when she was 10 years old. After her marriage to George Wilson in 1849 they had 11 children from that date to 1872 when their last son was born. The family didn't stay in one place but moved to various villages around Welton including Well where my grandmother Ellen was born in 1868. In the 1891 census Ann & George moved to York why? maybe they followed 3 of their children who had found jobs in the city of York, one of them Betsy it is said in the family that she had a position of cook to the Archbishop of York. Not been able to prove this as a fact. On the death of her husband George Ann moved to West Hartlepool where she lived with two of her unmarried daughters who ran a green grocery business. She passed away in 1903.
