Biography
Arthur William Hewson was born in 1871 and was baptised on 3 November 1871 at Hawick, Roxburghshire, Scotland[1]. He was the son of John Morris Hewson and Agnes Johnston Wilkinson.
Arthur lived with his parents and siblings in Market Place, Henley On Thames, Oxfordshire, England (1881) and Camberwell New Road, Lambeth, London, England (1891); he was aged 19 and single.
Occupation: Clerk Paper Manufacturers
His mother died in 1896.
He married Rose Esther Emily Shotter in 1897 in Lambeth, London[2]. They went on to have five children.

By 1911 their family had grown to five children. They were recorded living at 1 Avenue Road, Penge, Surrey & Kent, England; Arthur William Hewson was now aged 39 years of age and employed as a Manager to a Preserve Manufacturer.
Sir William Pickles Hartley, head of the well-known firm of jam manufacturers, bequeathed to Arthur £1,000 in his Will, when he died in 1923.
Arthur William Hewson was resident at 24 Beckenham Grove, Beckenham, Kent when he passed away on 18 June 1934 and was buried at Beckenham Cemetery and Crematorium, Beckenham[3][4][5].
His Will was proved on 27 July 1934 at London to his widow Rose Esther Emily Hewson[6]. Effects: £3,944, 16s. 9d.
