Hightower, deceased and mother: M.E. Hightower, surviving. Thomas, was born 5/30/1891, age 9 years. Good physical condition, blonde of slender build; released at age 18, 5/14/1908, to his mother; in an accident at a saw mill on Sept. 9, 1908, his left hand was cut off; he was returned to the home on October 1, 1908. Grover was born 9/25/1893, at Etna, TN., admitted at age 7; he was blond, was paralized on his right side, could walk but not use his right hand. No other information listed about him. Myrtle, born 7/9/1895 at Blue Creek. Brunette, heavy build, released to her mother, Mary Biddle, Toney, Alabama on 7/21/1913 David, born 5/31/1897; strawberry blond, released to his mother 6/5/1916, Mary Biddle, as above. All were listed as in good health, excepting Grover; all were good students and all were active in Sunday School and Church. These are the only Hightowers of record. I am sorry there is not more information, but I am happy to provide what we have. If I may be of additional assistance, please feel free to contact me. Have a wonderful summer! Charlie The only records we have are in the huge ledger books, I have tried to use my digital camera, and the photos are not at all legible. In all four of the records, D.B. is referred to only as D.B. WIsh I could do more. The very old records were all lost in a basement flooding event at the Grand Lodge Building, prior to my becoming Grand Secretary. The two big ledger books were in a metal cabinet on the main floor.
