Research Notes
There is a record of the marriage of a Mattie M. Hildreth to John W. Williams in Covington County, Alabama on 6 Aug 1896. Covington County is where the Matty M. Hildreth profiled here lived when she was enumerated in the 1880 United States Census.[3] 1910 and 1920 United States Census Records of the household of John W. Williams with wife Mattie (born about 1867-1867) residing in Covington County, Alabama have also been examined. On the 1910 Census a niece named Minnie Hildreth is listed as living in the household which might provide some evidence of connection between this Mattie M. Williams to Matty M. Hildreth[4][5] There are no other records found so far to definitively link this Mattie M. Hildreth/Williams to Matty M. Hildreth, daughter of William C. Hildreth.
