Biography

Charles F. Hildreth was born in July 1855^[1]or 1856.^[2] He was the son of Parlin Hildreth and his wife Mercy Bonsey/Boney.

1860 US Federal Census Milford, Penobscot, Maine

In 1860, Mercy Hildreth is a 42 year old widow. She is living with her son Daniel W., 19, a farmer; daughter Melissa A., 17; and Charles F., 3. All were born in Maine.^[3]

1870 US Federal Census Milford, Penobscot, Maine

In 1870, Mercy Hildreth, a 52 year old housekeeper, lived with Daniel, 29, who worked on lumber; Charles F., 11; and Rufus, 39. who worked on lumber. All were born in Maine.^[4]

Effie Adelaide Wright and Charles F. Hildreth were married about 1879.^[1] She was the daughter of S B Wright and Martha White.^[5] Based on census and other records, Charles and his wife Effie Wright had at least the following children:

Charles F. Hildreth died in 1915 and is buried at the Evergreen Cemetery Bradley, Penobscot, Maine.^[2]
