Biography

Josiah Hill was born on 25 November 1797 in Provincetown, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Hill and Susanna (Dyer) Hill.[1][2]

He married Anna Young (1802-1870) on December 11, 1821 in Provincetown, Massachusetts.[3] They had at least 2 children.

  1. Joanna Young Hill (1824-1905)[4]
  2. Josiah J Hill Jr. (1836-1889) m. Frances H Plumley; 1858;[5]

Josiah (age 57) and Amy (age 53) lived in Provincetown, Barnstable, Massachusetts in 1855, with their son Josiah-18, where he worked as a Laborer, and His son was a mariner.[6]

Josiah died at age 80, on September 1, 1878 in Provincetown, Barnstable, Massachusetts.[7] He was a Mariner, and widower at the time of his death.
