Biography
Arthur was born in 1850 in Toft, England. His parents emigrated to Canada then to Magnolia, Iowa. He married Mary Ann Gee in Magnolia. In the fall of 1899, Arthur and his brother James travelled to Ponoka to look over the farm land around the area. They staked a claim at Grand Meadows, and returned home. In the Spring of 1900, Arthur and his son Herbert emigrated to Grand Meadows, and Mary Ann and the children followed in 1901. The Holbens resided on the farm until they sold in 1926, when they moved into Ponoka.
