Carrie was born on 14 February 1887 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, United States. She was a daughter of William Holland & Mary Ann Fink.
She married Fulton Gilmer Stearns in December 1918 in Cabarrus County, NC. They had 2 children: James Edward (b. 1926) & Howard Fulton (b. 1928).
In the 1920 census Carrie (age 32) was living in Concord Ward 2, Cabarrus, North Carolina.
In the 1930 census Carrie (age 43) was living in China Grove, Rowan, North Carolina.
