Biography

Will Bowden "Bill" Holland was born on March 20, 1900 at Goldthwaite Texas. He was the son of Wiley Dedman Holland and Sarah Jane Henry. "Bill" was the eighth of ten children. Links to the grave locations for this family can be seen at Find A Grave: Memorial #162264350.

He married first to Ethel Drucilla Huffman on June 18, 1919 at Mills County Texas.[1] They lived in Goldthwaite and Brownwood Texas and they had two sons together, Wiley and Walter. In early photos of the boys they were noted on the back as Wiley and Walter, as they aged the photos were noted as Donald and Will. As adults they were refered to as Don and Tete. The marriage ended before 1933. Ethel did not remarry.

"Bill" married second to Gracie Leona "Grace" Wilkins on December 17, 1933 at New Mexico. They lived in Goldthwaite, Evant and lastly in Gatesville Texas. They had three daughters, Billie Jo, Patsy Ruth and Brenda Gail.

"Bill" was raised in a farm family, he worked the family farm and helped his father with veterinary work in the community. After his father died he worked for Dr Danforth, DVM and was a meat cutter at the locker plant in Goldthwaite, Evant and Gatesville. He raised and sold game chickens and loved coon hunting with dogs.

"Bill" Holland passed away on July 21, 1980 at Temple Texas[2] [3]and was laid to rest in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery at Goldthwaite Texas. [4]
