Johann Heinrich Franz Hollenkamp aka Frank Hollenkamp, son of Heinrich Hollenkamp and Elisabetha Verkamp, was born on 11 August 1888 and baptised on 19 August 1888 in St Joseph, Cincinnati, West End, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, United States.[1] His godparents were Franz Schönhoffer and Maria E. Stehle Lampe.[1]

In the 1900 census Frank Hollenkamp (age 12) was an inmate in St. Aloysius Orphan Asylum, Bond Hill, Mill Creek Township, Hamilton, Ohio, United States.[2]

Frank George Hollenkamp was in a military record in 1917-1918 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States.[4]

During World War I Frank fought in the 330 Infantry, as part of the 83rd Infantry Division to 20 July 1918. He was discharged from the 30th Infantry Regiment as Private first-class on 10 January 1918. He fought at Aisne-Marne, at the Battle of St Mihiel[5], the Meuse - Argonne offensive[6], and in the Defensive Sector and was severely wounded in action on 12 October 1918. He was a part of the American Expeditionary Forces between 12 June 1918 to 14 February 1919.

George Frank (31) married Catherine P. Krebs (24) (born in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States on 14 June 1895; died in Cincinnati on 7 Marcj 1969), daughter of Jacob Krebs and Matilda Geiser, on 25 November 1919 in Hamilton County, Ohio[7][8]. The wedding ceremony was performed by the catholic priest Rev. Jos. A. Tieken, the marriage license had been issued on 21 November 1919.

At this time, Frank' was residing at 50 East Court Street, where the 1910 US Federal Census shows his half-brother Ed resided with Strubbe cousins. His bride was residing with her parents at 2795 Montana Ave in Cincinnati.

In the 1920 census Frank G Hollenkamp (age 30) was a son-in-law in the household of Jacob Krebs at 2795 Montana Ave in the 24th Ward of Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, United States.[9]
