Biography

Quinn Soloman Holloway was born January 27, 1911 in Slocomb, Alabama to John Holloway and Lou Essie Watson. In 1920 he was found living in Slocomb, Alabama. He married Ella McDaniel (of Jay, Florida) July 8, 1933 at the Santa Rosa County Courthouse in Milton, Florida. After moving to Florida with his family sometime between 1920 and 1930 he was raised and lived the rest of his life in the Pine Level Community located south of Jay, Florida. He worked as a farmer and later as a bus driver for the Santa Rosa County School board at Jay School in Jay, Florida. He passed away January 9, 1979 at Santa Rosa County Hospital in Milton, Florida from complications of uremia resulting in kidney failure. He is buried in a marked gravesite with his wife Ella at Concord Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Jay, Florida.
