Jonathan was born in 1821 in Massachusetts. [1]

In 1850, age 30, he was living in Conneaut, Pennsylvania, with Mary J. 22, and 5-month-old daughter, Clarissa. [2]

In 1860, age 39, he was living in Jefferson Township, Iowa, with his wife, Mary J., 32, children-Cara,10, Zilpha, 7, Emma, 4, V. J., 2. and 4 members of the Holcomb family. [3] He worked as a farmer in Iowa. [4]

Mary Jane died in Iowa in 1867 and Jonathan remarried. His 2nd wife was Matilda Case. In 1870, age 49, he was living in Crawford County, Pennsylvania, with Matilda Holman, 43, Zilpha, 17, and 6 members of the North family. [5] Matilda was first married to Oliver North. It is her family through that marriage that is living with her and Jonathan in 1870.

Jonatha died in 1890 in Conneautville. [6]
