Robert Holman, 62 Robert Richard "Bob" Holman died Monday, Dec. 19, 2005.

He was born Dec. 13, 1943, the second of two children born to Ervin and Merwyn (Rice) Holman. Although born in the Seattle area, Bob was proudly raised in Butte.

Bob attended Scared Heart Elementary until the fourth grade, then transferred to St. Joseph's, where he graduated from eighth grade in 1957. He then graduated from Butte High School in 1961. He furthered his education at Western Montana College and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in secondary education and later earned a master's degree in administration. His very first teaching position was at the high school in Challis, Idaho, but he always said "You can take the boy out of Butte, but you can't take Butte out of the boy," so he returned a year later to Butte to dedicate 36 years to the Butte School District. His years of service included teaching business at Butte High School, truant officer, principal at Monroe Elementary and West Junior High, athletic director, assistant principal and principal at Butte High School until his retirement in 2002. ...
