Joshia Mae (Holte) James is a part of US Black heritage.
Joshia Mae was born about 1931. She is the daughter of Henry Holte and Tempey Reed. By the age of 4, she was living in Jacksonville, Florida, with her parents and siblings. By the 1940 census, she was living in Baker County, Georgia, on a farm, with her maternal grandparents. Having an unusual name, it doesn't show up much in records. It was spelled Joshua in the 1940 census. In the 1950 census, she is still there, but with the last name of James, and married to Dan James. They have a daughter, Patricia.
Later in life, she is found living in Albany, Georgia, where her sister, Hattie Mae lives, in 1997, then in Newton, Georgia from 2003 to 2005. She died in Albany in 2010.
