According to the 1 June 1905 Census 2nd Ward, City of Waupaca, Waupaca County, Wisconsin, Line 76 #327. John H Hom was 44 years old and was born in Wisconsin.

According to the 1905 Census, both of John's parents were born in NY. He was employed as a stock buyer. He owned his home a house free of a mortgage.

His wife, Elizabeth was 34 and born in Wisconsin. Her parents were born in Ireland. They had two sons Paul 14 and Leroy 12 years old.

According to the 1930 Census for Waupaca, Waupaca, Wisconsin John H Hom was 69 years old and was 30 years old when He was was married. He was born in Wisconsin. He could read and write. He was currently employed as a dealer for live stock. He was not a veteran. He owned his home worth ,000 and it was not a farm. They did not have a radio, He lived alone with his wife Elizabeth. This Census record indicates that both of his parents were born in Wisconsin which is in conflict with the 1905 Census noted above and should be disregarded as the Census Records of 1905 and 1910 notes that his parents were born in New York. Elizabeth was age 59 at the time of the census and 19 years old when she married. She could read and write. Her parents were born in the free state of Ireland.

John Henry Hom's death record notes that he died of a cerebral Hemorrhage on 7 July 1939 in Waupaca Wisconsin and was buried at Lakeside Cemetery Cemetery, Waupaca, Wisconsin.

John's Obituary which a copy of the original is attached notes the following: John H Hom, 79, Waupaca, prominent as a cattle buyer and real estate operator for 40 years died at 5 o'clock Friday morning after a 3 day illness. Mr Hom, a second ward alderman for 6 years, was born July 9, 1860 (actual day was the 8th). He retired from business 4 years ago. Surviving are the widow: two sons, Paul, Duluth; Roy, West Allis and eight grandchildren....
