Biography

Simpson was born on 19 May 1853 in Alabama. He was the son of Green Lee Horn and Mary Jane (Russell) Horn.^[1] He married Elizabeth Porter.

In the 1860 census Simpson (age 7) was living in Southern Division, Talladega, Alabama.^[1]

When Simpson was about 19 he married Elizabeth Porter in 1873 at an unknown location. The couple had 10 children: Edward Lee Horn, America D Ann Horn., Harriett S Horn., Isabell Horn, Darby C Horn., Kate Horn, Edward Amos Horn, Willie Horn, May Horn and Pearl Horn.^[2]

In the 1870 census Simpson (age 17) was living in Township 20 Range 6, Clay, Alabama.^[3]

In the 1880 census Simpson (age 27) was living in Chandlers, Talladega, Alabama, United States.^[4]

In the 1900 census Simpson (age 47) was living in Precinct 18 Poll Bridge, Clay, Alabama.^[5]

Simpson died at the age of 62 on 10 September 1915^[6]
