Zillah May Housego was born at Waratah, in April 1912. She was the daughter of William Housego and Alice Hartnett. (1)
Zillah passed away on the 4th April, 1935 at Westbury. Her body, along with the body of her friend Reginald Collin Sutton (28) were found near the railway at Westbury. An inquest was held and the Coroner was convinced that, even though Sutton had died from taking poison by his own hand, Zillah had died from shock, a reaction from taking the poison. (2)
The couple had planned to marry but Zillah's parents had refused to allow the marriage. A bottle with a smell of strychnine was found near the site as well as a note written saying 'Good bye'
Zillah was buried on the 5th April, arriving at the Star of the Sea Church, Burnie, before interment at the Wivenhoe General Cemetery.
