Biography

Robert Howard is a part of US Black heritage.

Robert was born about May 2, 1862 in Xenia, Greene county, Ohio, USA according to the death record for his son Donald Howard.^[1]

He married Cora R. Armstrong on September 25, 1881 in Church of the Good Shepherd in St Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. Witnesses were Weldon Howard and Ella Smith.^[2]

The family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1908 and as of the 1916 Census, he was widowed, a barber and working on his own account and living at 708 Strathcona Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba.^[3]

Robert was mentioned on a memorial in Oakland Cemetery, Saint Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States with a death date of 31 October 1923.^[4]
