Biography

John was born around 1785. He was baptised on the 26 Jun 1785 at Cranford St Andrew, Northamptonshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Howard and Dorothy Archer.[1]

He married Elizabeth Burdett JAQUEST in 1809.

They had, at least, four sons:

  • Shadrach (1811),
  • John (1814),
  • Alfred (1817), and
  • Christopher (1822).

Elizabeth died in 1840.

He married Sarah (Brigstock) Weston on the 19th May 1841 at Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire. John was recorded as 55 years-old (DOB~1786) and the son of Thomas Howard. Sarah was recorded as 52 years-old (DOB~1789) and the daughter of William Brystock (sic).[2]

At the time of the 1841 UK Census, John was living with his new wife, Sarah, and his son Christopher in Islington, Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire.[3]

His sons (Christopher and Alfred) emigrated to South Australia on the Magdalena in 1853.

He passed away in 1864. He was buried on the 9 Oct 1864 in Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire[4]
