Biography

Born in Framingham in 1820, he married 10 Oct 1847 Caroline Hills, born in Union, Maine 11 Jul 1823 and died 13 Sep 1894. He moved to Boston where he became a well known music publisher and dealer in musical instruments. He with his brother Willard Howe, were among the primary organizers of the Howe Family Gathering in South Framingham, 1871. He was chosen secretary of the Executive Committee that organized the meeting, the largest family gathering ever held in New England. It was suggested at the meeting that a family register or genealogies be published. Mr Howe spent much time and money on that work in the years that followed.^{[1] [2]}
