Biography
James Howell was the 12th child born to Paul Howell III and his wife, Martha.
James married Hester Witt of Patrick County, Virginia, on February 28, 1812 in Patrick County, Virginia. On their marriage certificate Hester's name was written twice as "Hitty" Witt, and twice her first name has a line drawn through it with "Hester" written above.
