Olive was born about 1821,[1] probably at Prince William, New Brunswick where she was living at the time of her marriage. She is the daughter of John Hoyt and Lydia Saunders, granddaughter of Daniel Keeler Hoyt, Loyalist.
On Saturday, 4 Jan 1840, David Burden of Queensbury, York County married Olive Hoyt, eldest daughter of John Hoyt, Prince William.[2][3]
