Funeral Held Sunday For Mrs. S. Conover
Funeral services for Mrs. Suzannah Conover, a pioneer of this section of Texas, who died at her home, 116 Fannin Street, Friday morning, were held Sunday afternoon with Rev. John W. Darby, pastor of Central Christian Church, officiating.
Mrs. Conover was born in Muskingum County, Ohio, on January 29, 1854. Her parents moved to Decatur, Ill, when she was a child. She was educated in that city, and was married to T. M. Conover on July 3, 1876.
The young couple came to Texas immediately, and first settled at Moore. They lived on a ranch there for some years, later moving to Castroville, where their two children, Josephine and Charles, were born. They moved to San Antonio about 30 years ago.
Mrs. Conover was the last of her family to die in the same home. Surviving her is one granddaughter, Mrs. Margaret J. Conover: also three sisters, Mrs. George C. Grove and Mrs. Rose Creighton, both of Decatur, Ill., and Mrs. Maria Cripe of Fresno, Cal., and one brother, James Huff of Decatur, Ill.
